A manuscript in development
Wellness Is Contextual™
The question is simple: What is wellness? The answer should begin with the person living it.

The central idea
Wellness should be defined by each person through their own perspective. Depending on their circumstances, wellness may look different. The conditions that make it possible may be different, too.
Rest and recovery
Place and wellbeing
Travel and connection
The inquiry began in 2016
Wellness looked different when I asked a simple question.
At a public library in Oklahoma City, I asked people: What is wellness? I wanted each person to define it through their own perspective.
People spoke about being able to eat and enjoy time with family. Others spoke about culture and dance. No one mentioned spas or massages. Their answers became the beginning of a much larger inquiry.
